MAUDSLEY: A Devious Mind

Like Dean, I've always had a fascination for the branch of magic that deals with

the mind - the soothsayers, the mind readers, the mentalists. I am mostly known in magic circles for creating new effects in this category. I guess it was for that reason Dean asked me to Co write and direct his new show.

We have gone back in time and researched little known performers working in the 1940's and 50's that interested us. We have also looked forward, and sought to treat the subject in brand new ways. Bottom line is, A Devious Mind is not a magic act as such. It's got a broader agenda. We wanted to play with behaviour, influence and memory. Research into the brain is still in its infancy. The mind is still largely uncharted territory, constantly surprising us.

Maudsley will make you laugh. He will certainly surprise you, and I fancy, here and there, he'll shock you.
